As most of you know, I spent the last 7 years being L. Swanson Photography, before begging my best friend to help me with an upcoming wedding that my second shooter cancelled on. Well, I guess you could say that things spiraled out of control from there and we needed a new business name. This is the story of how we became Elle Photographie, Elle is the sound that the letter L makes and includes two L’s (one for each of us Lacey & Lindsey). Also Elle Photographie translates from French to English as “she photographs” which is exactly what we do. We feel like as a woman owned business that supports other women in all of their endeavors, having the pronoun She in our name is an amazing symbol of who we are as a business and what we hope to accomplish as a team. We chose a French name because that is the one piece of our heritage that we share. We tried to think of different ways to combine our names but ultimately decided that anyone could use their own name, and we wanted more. Our new name says more than what is written on our drivers licenses. It tells a story. After all, isn’t that what photographers do? We tell stories with our images and illustrate the most beautiful fairytales ever, YOURS!

Hey I'm Lacey

I'm a dreamer at heart, I believe that everyone is born good and there is no such thing as a bad human. I love people and being able to capture all of the things that make each person unique. I have been photographing families since 2012 and I hope that I never stop learning and growing. My passion originally started with never wanting another parent to go through life without a single photo of a child that they lost and slowly grew leaps and bounds to wanting to capture every single tiny detail in life as if every day might be the last. I have a family that is wildly beautiful and crazy and challenges me to see things in a new way every single day. I feel big feelings about almost everything and I love to express my emotions with photographs.

Hi, I'm Lindsey

I’m not like most photographers, I didn’t plan this out or dream about it for years. My first passion as an adult was advocating for people with physical and intellectual disabilities. That’s actually how I met Lacey. On my first day, she declared that we were best friends and she would be in my wedding. I wasn’t even engaged yet, but she didn’t really care about that detail. Fast forward about eight years, and a million life milestones, including my own marriage and two insanely adorable children, to the day Lacey asked me to carry her bags for her at a wedding and the rest is history. I fell in love, head over heals, with all of the details. The knowing how much love was poured in to each and every flower, gemstone, and hanky, and being given the opportunity to memorialize all of it, FOREVER! I didn’t dream of being a photographer, because I didn’t know dreams come in a size this big. I won’t tell you that I have always been passionate about capturing other peoples tender moments, I will instead tell you that capturing other peoples tender moments made me passionate about life.
